Who are we?
We are a Singapore couple, currently working in Hong Kong. Due to the tax-free shopping haven in HK, many friends have been asking us to help them buy and bring shopping items, such as electronics (cameras, ipad, iphone etc) and branded bags (celine, bottega), as we shuttle between HK and SG very often. An idea was planted one day as we were chatting with a friend that we should help more people enjoy the tax free shopping. Eventually, this website was created.
What & Why to buy from Hong Kong?
Generally, Hong Kong is a tax free haven, i.e. there is no 7% GST. So, everything you buy here is at a discount of at least 7% when compared to Singapore.
Further, due to the price advantage in Hong Kong, some if not most of the electronic and branded good items are marked at a cheaper price than Singapore.
We take an Sony camera - Sony NEX-7 as an example.
Singapore (Price from sony.com.sg) = SGD 1,799.
Hong Kong (Price from sonystyle.com.hk) = HKD 9,690. Converts into SGD 1,534 only!!
Saving of SGD 265!! Discount of over 17%!!
This is a classic example of the price advantage of Hong Kong retail. If we get the camera from Mong Kok shop (Wing Shing Photo Supplies), it will be even cheaper + more free gifts!
Buying a camera or a branded bag is like an investment. Where there are price difference, we should take advantage of it, right? There is really no really no way you should give away SGD 265 just like that!
What is the process?
(1) Firstly, if you have something you are interested in Hong Kong, you can watzapp us on +852-93880623 or email to fannylimsh@outlook.com.
(2) Then, we will check out the Hong Kong price for you.
(3) If you are happy with the Hong Kong price and confirm that you want us to buy for you, I will give you a confirmation on my flight timing and show you my flight itinerary as a safeguard for you. Then, you transfer 70% of the cost price of the item.
(4) When I buy the item, I can take a photo of the receipt to show you. And confirm our meeting time in Singapore.
(5) Meet up to pass you your item and remaining 30%.
What is the handling fee charges?
The handling fee is a flat 6% of the listing price.
(In cases where 6% of listing price is under Sgd 50, the minimum is Sgd 50.)
Where there is bulk purchase of 3 items or more, the handling fee will be negotiable.
